How FB and Twitter perform in the World, and Hong Kong?

Hello there,

In previous article, we are discussed the Facebook and Twitter have their characteristics, to attracting the user to build up and keep the relationship network through their service. In this article, I will discuss their result of those design - how many, and how they used in the world and Hong Kong.

Following data is a most direct data - the user numbers of those of site. Let's see the following graph which used the data that Bloomberg found by different organization (Molla, 2016):




This is the graph to show the MAU (monthly active user) , user frequency, and the time they spent on a day.

These graph are showing they are have huge gap between them. In scale, the twitter user have 300 million MAU on 2015 Quarter 4, and it is one-fifth of Facebook in same period. Those user have a strong tendency to Facebook, and they also have more strong will use more time and more frequency to use Facebook, which also have a huge gap of ratio of daily use users and spent time.

This is a Trend of the world and how about Hong Kong ? Well, Hong Kong as a metropolitan area in the global, and it can't avoid this trend too.

According the survey which to investigating the usage of Social Medias of HongKongers, the Active User of Facebook in Hong Kong was estimated have 4.4 million, which is over the half of population of Hong Kong and 3.1 million of them is daily-login user and use a half of hour average.

And 33% HongKongers is active in the Facebook, and twitter is lesser than
their one third.


















This result is related to the characteristic of the site? We will talk it on next article.
